Decker Making Her Marks on Road Courses VIR Debut

Natalie Decker will be joining Ave motorsports out of Mooresville, NC for her second start in the Trans Am series on September 22, 2018 at Virginia international Raceway (VIR). In August, Natalie made her Trans Am debut competing at the 4.048 mile with 14 Turns Road America course in her home state of Wisconsin where she made her way up to 9th Place at the halfway mark and then the transmission broke which ended her race early with the final finish of P 15. Tony Ave explains, “we are shooting for improvement in qualifying trim and running a solid race at VIR, hopefully we can give her the top 10 finish she deserved at Road America.”

The native of Eagle River Wisconsin has her hands on the wheel as a full-time Arca driver with Venturini motorsports out of Concord, NC. She has been given the opportunity to expand her race resume by N29 capital partners, LLC with driving for Ave motorsports and Decker looks forward to racing at the 3.27 mile with 17 turns VIR course. Decker will be driving the Ave motorsports no. 44 Corvette with Yamaha power products on the TV panel.

Tony explains the importance of gaining new track experiences, “VIR is a very challenging course that has a lot of blind, fast sections that is very difficult to learn. I wanted to have Natalie run here to accelerate her ability to learn new tracks, which will serve her well in the future.” Natalie adds, “having raced at Road America last year in the ARCA series I was more familiar going back for the TA series. VIR is a lot different and I look forward to competing and learning at this track.”

This season Natalie has experienced an array of new tracks in the ARCA series, TA series, and in Spain with the FIA Women in Motorsports at Cicuito de Navarra. “Just being in any race car getting seat time at new tracks is always helping me become a better driver, and this year has done just that for me.” Decker explains.

Another addition to Natalie’s resume with Ave Motorsports will be Daytona International Speedway November 10th, 2018 in the TA series. Keep your eyes on the versatile Natalie Decker as she continues to make her marks in the new challenges of racing. Nataliedeckerinc.com
