Decker Races Into United Rentals 300 At Daytona

Natalie Decker Inc NASCAR, Press Release

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – After a two-hour delay for rain Saturday at Daytona International Speedway, qualifying for the United Rentals 300 in the NASCAR Xfinity Series got underway. In her No. 36 Amped Fitness® DGM Racing Chevrolet, Natalie Decker rolled off 20th from the grid for her single-car qualifying lap.

She clocked a 50.418-second lap, which scored her 9th immediately after the run. The DGM Racing No. 36 came to the track with no owner points, meaning Decker needed to qualify in the top 33 to secure a spot in the race. With only 24 drivers left to qualify, the 9th place run locked her in, pending post-qualifying inspection.

Once the final 24 drivers had taken their qualifying laps, Natalie was sitting pretty in 31st.Then after a disqualification in post-race inspection, Decker moved up to 30th in the United Rentals 300 starting lineup.

“We had a great qualifying lap, and know there’s more speed to be found in my No. 36 Amped Fitness DGM Racing Chevrolet!” expressed an excited Decker. “Shoutout to Amped Fitness and Wawa for keeping me fueled and motivated all weekend! Excited to see what we can do when the checkered flag drops!”

Though the race was scheduled for a revised 4:30 pm start, rain began to fall again shortly after qualifying on the 2.5-mile tri-oval. This would eventually force NASCAR to make the decision to postpone the United Rental 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race until Monday.

The drop of the green flag is scheduled for Monday February 18th at 11:00 am, with TV coverage on FS1.

About Wawa®:
Wawa, Inc., a privately held company, began in 1803 as an iron foundry in New Jersey. Toward the end of the 19th Century, owner George Wood took an interest in dairy farming and the family began a small processing plant in Wawa, PA in 1902. The milk business was a huge success, due to its quality, cleanliness and “certified” process. As home delivery of milk declined in the early 1960s, Grahame Wood, George’s grandson, opened the first Wawa Food Market in 1964 as an outlet for dairy products. Today, Wawa is your all day, every day stop for freshly prepared foods, beverages, coffee, fuel services and surcharge-free ATMs. Wawa stores are in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Washington, D.C. The stores offer a large fresh food service selection, including Wawa brands such as custom-prepared hoagies, freshly brewed coffee, hot breakfast sandwiches, specialty beverages, and an assortment of soups, sides, and snacks. Forbes.com Ranks Wawa as #29 of America’s Largest Private Companies in 2021 and #12 on Forbes 100 Halo List in 2022.
