Natalie Decker and Hulu’s Chad Powers Join Forces for Daytona

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Natalie Decker will make her Young’s Motorsports debut at one of NASCAR’s biggest stages Friday night, August 28, driving the No. 42 Chevrolet at Daytona International Speedway with Hulu’s Chad Powers taking center stage.

The one-of-a-kind No. 42 will feature the Chad Powers characters across the car, transforming Decker’s Chevrolet into a high-speed preview for the show’s return just six days later.

Chad Powers, Hulu’s hit half-hour comedy starring Glen Powellfollows hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday as he tries to resurrect his dreams by disguising himself as Chad Powers – a talented oddball who walks on to the struggling South Georgia Catfish football team. In season 2, the walls are closing in on Russ’s lie as he tries to survive the regular season as Chad and lead the Catfish to the College Football Playoff.

All episodes of Chad Powers Season 2 will premiere September 3 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers.

For Decker, the partnership brings together a show she genuinely loves with a message that resonates with her as an athlete.

“I absolutely love Chad Powers,” Decker said. “I rewatched it recently and there are scenes that still have me laughing so hard I cry. But what I really love is that underneath all of the comedy, there’s a story about an athlete who gets knocked down, keeps going and believes there can still be another opportunity ahead.”

“That part really connected with me. Racing tests you physically and emotionally, and this year has definitely tested me. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to make my first start with Young’s Motorsports at Daytona, and doing it with a show and a character whose story I connect with makes this one really special.”

Decker and the No. 42 team plan to bring the fun of Chad Powers beyond the paint scheme throughout the Daytona weekend, with additional elements inspired by the series expected to make appearances both on and off the track.

“We’re excited to welcome Natalie to Young’s Motorsports and have Chad Powers and Hulu with us at Daytona,” said team principal Tyler Young. “It’s an incredible-looking race car, it’s a huge weekend for our sport, and we’re looking forward to putting together a strong run with the No. 42.”

The Winn-Dixie 250 Powered by Coca-Cola serves as the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series regular-season finale and is scheduled for Friday, August 28 at Daytona International Speedway.
